Giving Hope, Sharing Joy and Living Life

Click here to view latest projects & related updates

I created this website to help people in unique and creative ways. I have taken the responsibility of demonstrating that helping others is not always through money. People can contribute their skills and help others grow in many ways. My current focus is on helping lower income groups in UAE, offering recruitment advise to troubled employees and helping anybody else going through any difficulty where my skills could be of use to them. My idea is not encouraging people to live off donations or support from others, instead I try to help people grow by teaching them life changing skills, so that they can sustain themselves and live their lives in a dignified way.

I try to inculcate a hope in people who have given up all hope. I encourage them to start believing that it is never too late to learn and change. Even a 60 years old person can learn new skills and make a difference to his/her life. To achieve this goal, I collaborate with many generous and talented people. We get together, brainstorm and come up with amazing ideas and work on voluntary basis. Although there are so many ways to help others (without money), I will illustrate some examples here by considering the area of learning: we can help by offering computer training, by offering English language training, by helping people use internet for their livelihood and a million other fabulous ideas. Just imagine what difference computer training will make to the life of a construction worker. I am working hard and I am very happy that so many people are with me, supporting me, appreciating me and helping me. I am sure, together we can make a huge difference to this world. If you feel your skills could help someone, please get in touch with me and let me know how would you like to help. I hope I managed to share the zest and ethusiasm which I have for enabling people to help one another.

Along the same lines, I also wanted to share some resources where people who wish to help others, can voluteer their time and skills. I came across an excellent article in FYI Dubai magazine's May 2009 issue. There are a lot of useful contacts of several non-profit organizations running across UAE, particularly in Dubai, and many resourceful suggestions of what you can do to help the community here. Some of these organizations and suggested ways of helping them are listed below:

Most of the time we are all so busy, we forget that there is more to life than just meeting deadlines and acquiring nice, shiny things. But for some of us, the tug to connect with others and help make a difference becomes an overwhelming urge. It may come as a surprise to some, but there are a number of organizations here in Dubai whose main focus and aim is to give back. Join one. Reach out, and help.

All As One
Established in 1997 as an international charity, AAO is an NGO registered in Sierra Leone, whose Dubai office is an NGO licensed through Dubai International Humanitarian City. Their mission is to respond to the critical dilemma of the orphaned, abandoned, abused and destitute in Sierra Leone. Their first priority is to provide shelter, medical care, schooling, meals, clothing, social interaction and love for the children in their direct legal custody at their Center in Freetown. Matthew Morgan-Jones is the Country Director for Dubai, UAE. A popular figure around Dubai, Matthew is dedicated to raising awareness for AAO and has been working with them since 2005. He has now adopted four children from Sierra Leone and has certainly raised the profile as All As One in Dubai.
